“The Adventures of Dolly“

This game was playable at the “How I see It“ Exhibit at ACMI from the 16th of Dec 2022 to Feb 19th 2023. As a small part of an of a larger art installation by Jarra Karalinar Steel.

This game is a collaboration between Jarra Karalinar Steel and Charlotte Allingham with programming by Peter Adams.

Charlotte and Jarra share a love of games and hope to expand this world and Dolly’s Adventures in the future.

We wanted to create a game that was ours for mob, a story of a young Koorie/ Torres Strait Islander young person being on Kulin country in an alternative/future Melbourne CBD and running errands for their nan on the way to catch up at the arcade with their friend.

What would Melbourne look like if our culture was respected and not erased. If we are seen more than negative stereotypes but a living ever evolving culture and people. Just existing and living our lives like everyone else.

We are also looking at making this game available on mobile and for download in the new year. So please stay tuned.
